SCASA have announced the dates for the fifth annaul SA National Barista Championship.
The 2011 championship will consist of three regional events in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. The top competitors from these events will qualify to enter the SA National Barista Championship which will take place in Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre.
The winner of the SA National Barista Championship will then be eligable to represent South Africa at the World Barista Championship takeing place in Bogata Columbia. The WBC is a trully global stage with competitors from over 50 countries competing to raise title of being the best barista in the world.
If the past five years competitions are anything to go by we can look forward to even tighter competition amongst South Africa's best baristas. Competitors from South Africa's best coffee retailers have been constantly raising the bar and I look forward to seeing SA's best Barista's fighting it out again for the very prestigious title of SA National Barista Champ.

15 – 17 October 2010 (Competition)
Regional: Johannesburg: University of Johannesburg: 4
November 2010 (set-up); 5 – 7 November 2010 (Competition)
National Barista Championship: Hostex, Sandton
Convention Centre: 13 – 16 March 2011
