Cheers to local flavor!

We are crazy for coffee and rumor has it that lots of other Americans are! We wanted to take a look at some local recipes that delight from cup to steaming cup.

Miami - Cuban Coffee

Cuba’s influence on Miami is strong, right down to the coffee. This small but mighty coffee drink packs a punch with equal parts espresso and sugar to jolt you awake.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of fresh espresso
  • 2 tablespoons of cane sugar

Directions:

  • Start with a small espresso pull. Don’t use your full 2 tablespoons, about ¾ tablespoons should do just the trick.
  • Add your full 2 tablespoons of sugar to a small cup.
  • Combine your first espresso pull with your sugar.
  • Whisk.
  • Whisk again.
  • Whisk once more for good measure.
  • Keep whisking until a caramel colored foam is present.
  • Pull the remaining espresso.
  • Combine the sugar and espresso mix with the second pull.
